The expression "Commerce" can be defined as: "Trading a objects or service for financial return".

It consists of four actions:

Display.

Pricing.

Demand.

Payment.

The term electronic or the letter (e) means the process of coupling both Information Technology and Communication technology.

Information technology consists of five parts:

Information - Stored in databases.

Computers.

Software.

Networks.

Humans.

1.2 From Commerce to Ecomm

And the term communication signifies the means by which any two computer nodes can be connected.

From that sense, any activity that is done by both Information Technology and Communication technology, the letter "e" can be added to it.

Accordingly, electronic commerce or as people call it eComm, is not just buying or selling through computer networks but it also covers doing any of the following commercial activities: Display, Pricing, Demand, or Payment by using "Information Technology" and "Communication Technology". Notice, we said "any" and not "all".
